According to Fabrizio Romano, negotiations for a contract extension are in the final stage. It is expected that Neuer will remain the team’s primary goalkeeper, but his understudy Jonas Urbig will receive more playing time. Neuer will assist the club’s coaching staff in grooming Urbig as his successor.
