The 29th round of the Russian Premier League kicked off on Sunday, 10 May 2026, with a crucial clash between two sides fighting to avoid the relegation play-offs. Orenburg emerged victorious 1-0 over Krylya Sovetov Samara, thanks to a well-taken goal from Evgeny Bolotov midway through the first half.
Before the match, Orenburg sat in the play-off zone, while Krylya Sovetov occupied 11th place. A win for the hosts would see them leapfrog their opponents on tiebreakers. The opening minutes belonged to Ildar Akhmetzyanov’s side, who dominated possession (63% to 37%) but failed to create clear-cut chances. The visitors focused on defending deep and rarely ventured forward on counter-attacks.
The early stages featured a heated exchange near the touchline, with Sergei Bozhin engaging in a loud argument with Akhmetzyanov. Referee Alexei Sukhoi showed the Orenburg coach a yellow card. The deadlock was broken in the 23rd minute when Bolotov controlled the ball with the sole of his boot before drilling it into the far corner with his second touch, making it 1-0.
