The Boston Celtics have shown interest in trading for 31-year-old NBA champion and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to insider Shams Charania’s report on social media platform X.
Sources indicate that the Celtics attempted to acquire Antetokounmpo ahead of the trade deadline but were unsuccessful. However, the franchise now sees a strong opportunity to finalize the deal. Charania previously reported that Bucks management is open to negotiations regarding a potential trade for the two-time MVP.
The Greek forward has played 36 games for Milwaukee this season, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. The Bucks finished the 2025-2026 season with a 32-50 record, missing the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
